January 7-10th 2027. Canolfan Pentre Ifan Centre.
Sir Penfro/ Pembrokeshire. Cymru – Wales
A moving laboratory for passing through wintertime together; re-storing, changing our coats, reading to each other and making slow…we wrap, swaddle, warm, and immerse in active dormancy, eating well, walking the wintering woods, embracing the conditions.
Proceeding through movement, walking scores, creative companionship, woodland immersion and with an ode to this season; celebrating how it is felt and how it shapes us. We move in the dark, on occasion we sleep in the woods, we make feast and on the final day we make something for each other and this place.
Short days, long nights; Locator 35 cultivates a Rest-fullness, making a warm space for the winter body we weave our seasonal melancholy as a cocoon for dreaming and slowing together…
Tycanol is an Atlantic sessile oak rainforest, a SSSi for lichen life, birds and mammals, it inhabits an ancient landscape close to the Celtic Sea, patterned with Dolerite outcrops and green wetlands.
Locator has taken place here annually since 1994; a time and place made for sharing movement practice, deep listening and attuning to this sylvan coastal ecosystem. Having evolved as a way to share practice in community, we attempt to cultivate a sensory porosity to the influence of other beings and the life of ecosystems. Through movement we sensitise to their generous affect and make them familiar to us.
